Over the years I have been asked many times if there was a website that buyers could access that would give them only a list of new OBX listings, up until now I believe the answer to that question was no.  Well I have changed that!!!!

This site gives the user different search options for Residential Homes, Vacant Lots & Commercial Real Estate, breaking down the search from 1-7 Days on the market.

So take a few seconds and checkout the new site.  Make sure you bookmark it to make it easy for you to return as often as you would like.  

Next site on the list will be one very similar but just for OBX Foreclosure & Short Sale properties.

Year End Awards & Happy Holidays!

I would like to take a quick second & wish everyone who reads these BLOGS a Happy & Safe Holiday Season!

I would also like to thank all my clients who made 2009 a great year!  Last week Village Realty had our end of the year Holiday Party & the sales awards were announced.  After closing 38 Transactions (all time high for Village Agent) & $9 Million in total sales volume (#1 in Company) I was awarded the Agent of the Year!

OBX - November Nor'Easter - 3PM Videos

A Few updated Videos from Kitty Hawk & Nags Head.

First 2 are from just south of Kitty Hawk Pier, Overwash was already happening.  2nd video you will see where Mother Ocean tried to take me out!

Next video was shot at the oceanfront right around the Outer Banks Mall.

That's it for today, don't really feel like being out and about when it gets dark.  I will post updated videos tomorrow morning.

OBX - November Nor'Easter - Thursday Morning Videos.

Got out of the house this morning about 9AM.  Drove down to Nags Head Pier and worked my way North and took videos from each of the piers.  From what I could tell it seemed like the wind was blowing the hardest at the Kitty Hawk Pier.

First Video is Nags Head Pier around 9:15AM

2nd Video - Avalon Pier around 9:30AM

3rd Videos are of Kitty Hawk Pier.  Wind & Rain was the strongest in this area, as you can tell from the 2nd Video as you couldn't even hear me trying to date the video.

Final Videos for now are from my Drive down to Nags Head Pier around 8:30 Thursday Morning.  Video is taken on the Highway 158 a little south of 7-11 in Kitty Hawk.  This one has a little Sugarland playing in the background, sorry if you are not a country music fan.

I am going to head back at probably around 2PM and taken some updated videos so please check back at that time.  If there is a specific video or picture you would like taken please let me know & I will do my best to get it for you.

Storm Headed Our Way

Per the Weather Channel, WavyTV10 and every other weather station in the US, it looks like we are in for a pretty bad 3 day Nor'Easter that hits the area today.  This storm is a mix of what was tropical storm IDA, an offshore low and a few other weather features.

Looks like we are in for possible 15-25 foot seas and winds up to 50mph.  As the storm gets stronger I am planning on heading over to Kitty Hawk Pier to take a few pictures which I will post later.

So in the meantime, everyone stay dry & safe.

Local Election Results!

A Very Big Congratulations to the 2 Big Winners!

• New Mayor of Southern Shores - Hal Denny
• New Mayor of Nags Head - Bob Oakes

Final but unoffical tallies for the Southern Shores election are....

Denny - 809

Smith - 352

Looks like the homeowners of Southern Shores were looking for a change as they voted 2-1 in favor of new Mayor-Elect Hal Denny.  Along with the election of Hal Denny came the first time ever a Write-In Canidate upset an incumbent town council member.  In a much closer vote Southern Shores resident George Kowalski upset Councilmen McDonald.

Also, as stated above a huge congratulations to Mayor-Elect Oakes in Nags Head.  Oakes won the election over longtime Nags Head Mayor Renee Cahoon!

Mid Currituck Bridge Update!

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Just found this on WRAL.com & I know this is very important to many of you.  Please see the link below or I have copy and pasted the article into this post.

N.C. nears deal for toll bridge to northern OBX :: WRAL.com.

COROLLA, N.C. — State officials and environmentalists are nearing a deal to build a 5-mile bridge to link the northern Outer Banks with the mainland.

The Virginian-Pilot of Norfolk reported Monday that the $650 million toll bridge would stretch over the Currituck Sound to Corolla, known for its lighthouse and wild horses. Projected tolls on the Mid-Currituck Bridge would be $10 to $15 for a one-way trip. The bridge is expected to generate $7 million in its first year.

The bridge would be aimed at relieving logjams for summer tourists on U.S. Highway 158 and N.C. Highway 12. For those traveling from the north, getting to Corolla requires going south almost to Kitty Hawk, a U-turn that can add up to an hour to the trip.

An environmental impact statement on the bridge is expected by the end of the year. Construction is scheduled to begin in February and be finished in 2013.

In April, the state Turnpike Authority entered an agreement with Spanish firms ACS Infrastructure Development and Dragados USA to determine if the project is financially feasible and possibly become investors for it.
